Which tire? The Open Country comes in different sizes and tread patterns.
I will add that when I changed from Michelins with a hwy tread to BF Goodrich KO2's I lost about 1+mpg. I have a different truck but it shouldn't matter.
I changed from Michelin highway tires to Cooper all weather on our 2010 Ford Edge. Last winter I got stuck just backing out of the garage - even with AWD the Michelins with 40,000 miles on them just had no grip in snow. The Cooper tires were light years better in snow, but I lost about 40-50 miles per 21 gallon tank in mileage. It doesn't seem like much, but it meant that my cruising range went from about 420 miles to 380, and that was significant to me. A year ago I drove 389 miles from Rock Springs WY to Sterling CO in a straight shot and never had to be concerned about running out of gas (the warning light never even came on before I filled up). With the new tires, I would be walking a few miles short Sterling.
Not exactly what the OP was asking about, but just an example that tires really do affect mileage.
