Toyota Highlander 2013

We have used a 2003 Toyota Highlander with our small Starcraft 1701 popup camper. We would like to upgrade to a hard walled camper and are considering buying a 2013 Toyota Highlander which has a 5000 lb towing capacity.

My wife had multiple myeloma and several back surgeries. We need a small comfortable camper with a good queen bed, kitchen, shower, and dining area. It will only be for the two of us.

Do you have any recommendations?
Has anyone pulled a TT with a Highlander?

    A friend has a Highlander towing a 23 foot hardside Caochmen. He is using an Equal-i-zer 4 pt WD hitch. He reports that it tows well. He has checked that the Highlander is rated for using a WD hitch.

    Check about weight distribution hitch on a highlander. I had the highlander with a 3500 lb popup and it towed fine but the rear sat pretty low which I did not like. After upgrading to a tt and getting rid of the highlander I thought I read it was not recommended to use wd hitch on the highlander. I would go look at trailers first and pick a vehicle after you choose a trailer. You will be looking at something on the very small side with the highlander.
