From my research it seems to get better perfomance and reliability than other trucks...but yes the gas mileage does suck.

I'm definitely not a Toyota hater. Had and loved a Camry for 10 years and now have a Sienna. The Camry is my favorite car of all time. Sienna is great so far, but only 20K miles, so too early to tell.
That said, I love my EcoBoost! The thing has so much power available without having to rev the engine way up there and will get about 10 mpg towing and over 20 mpg when not towing. I didn't seriously look at Tundras because I'd heard so many good things about the EB. I also understand that Tundra payloads tend to be a little on the light side. Mine is 1794 lbs and works out great for my needs.
