But, let me warn you, there are a lot of Toyota haters on this site.
That's cuz they're either misinformed or uninformed about the finer things in life.
Just getting rid of my last of 4 Toyota's I've had since 2005. The worst of them was a 2010 Tacoma. Worst vehicle I have ever owned. Toyota was perhaps the quality king 10-20 years ago. They have gotten NO better, and some other brands are in a different league than they were.
If you must cite consumer reports (to which I am a subscriber), realize that Toyota re-uses much of the outdated tech on most of their vehicles (think corolla, and it's 25 year old, um, everything). Other brands, such as Ford, have almost exclusively modern tech, from powertrain to ICE. Fords score suffers because of primarily 2 things, glitchy mytouch, and teething problems with their always updated powertrains. Not durability.
Not hard to build the exact same outdated stuff and iron out the issues. And anyone interested in the finer things in life is not buying the toasters on wheels that Toyota cranks out. Pick a class of vehicle that Toyota makes a more desirable vehicle, that is a decent drive. Good luck with that.
-Ex Toyota owner - 4 brand new in the past 4 years alone.
I've owned 5 Toyotas and had good luck with them. One thing I will agree with you though is Toyota makes very boring vehicles and never seem to innovate, or push the envelope. They play it very safe.
