Hi,This is somewhat a follow up to a previous post I made. I am considering a Tundra 5.7 (probably a 2012 or 2013).What gas mileage do you get with yours--City, Highway, and towing (and with what weight trailer)?I tow a 5k pound trailer (dry weight). I love my 06 Tundra but hate the 7mpg I get towing and it is a bit lacking on power (older Tundra with the 270hp 4.7)thanks!MattthanksMatt

I get about 9-10 mpg towing, depending on conditions. Day in, day out everyday driving I get about 13.5 mpg overall, combined city/highway. BTW, my towing mileage is about the same as my old 4.7 first Generation Tundra.The 5.7 Tundra is very dependent on how hard you put your foot into. It's possible to get better non-towing mpg then I do, but I've got a heavy right foot.

bowler...With my '08 4X4 DC 5.7L towing a 6K dry/approx. 6,800 loaded '11 Keystone Outback 250RS, I've averaged 9.5 to just short of 10.0 on hauls ranging from 400 to 1,500 miles. But I've also got short of 8.0 in strong headwinds. I'm a conservation driver (eg. maximum 62 MPH on the highway as a regular practice).My around town driving per tankfull will range from 12.6 for short hops in the cold winter periods, to 15.6 with more "suburban" driving stints in spring and fall.For more info. check-out fuelly.comRegards, BGood

31'tt @7600lbs averages 9.8mpg @65mph. I get an average of 18mpg on the highway non towing, 13mpg city. All hand calculated. Numbers will drop considerably with a heavy foot.

2007 Tundra Crew Cab

Highway 16.8 mpg
City 13.5 mpg
Towing 9-10 mpg (Mix of flat land and mountains)
5th wheel is 7,800 wet

Great truck! Crappy gas mileage!

I had a 2011 and NEVER could get the elusive 10 mph towing my 5,500# TT even on the flat lands of the Midwest at 65mph max. Was a great truck though.

I used to get 16-17 on the highway; 13-14 around town.
8.5-9.5 pulling a 6k travel trailer.

Loved that engine, didn't care it got so-so MPG.

Similar to others mentioned (though never bothered to check in-town gas mileage, as we've always lived in a mix of semi-rural and suburban areas.) Love the truck. The main drawback related to the MPG is the small gas tank. 20 gallons just don't allow you to go very far towing. When pulling the camper, we stop for gas about every 150 miles. (Yes, that is possible in Wyoming - but barely. :) )

The Tundra doesn't have a big tank, but 20 gallons? I believe it is a huge 26 gallons! :) You're right though, 150 to 200 miles is the max range on a Tundra while towing. BTW, when the DIC gets to ZERO miles left in the tank, you can still go 10 miles towing your trailer. Don't ask me how I know this. :)
