Toyota Tundra payload issues?

Hello!

I am a newbie truck camper wannabe.... I am looking at a Toyota Tundra 2013 and heard that the payload is not as great on these as other trucks. Can anyone out there that has one being used with a truck camper give me anything good or bad to say about the Tundra with a truck camper. Was considering a popup around 1550 lbs and that is near the limit of them and wouldnt leave any room to get a future bigger model. Anyone? Thank you

    1,450 to 2,090 lbs
    Towing capacity: 4,500 to 10,400 lbs
    Curb weight: 4,580 to 5,660 lbs
    MPG: Up to 16 city / 20 highway

    As you can see it varies from truck to truck. You will have to check the sticker on the truck's door jam. My opinion you will be overweight with most 1/2 ton trucks. Remember you will have to subtract the weight of your passangers and cargo from that number.
