I'm still trying to figure out the OP's assertion that a Tundra is a 3/4 ton truck.:h
BINGO...I already asked that. And I own a 2007 Tundra with the 5.7L....
Maybe they are being literal?
In the sense that...
1 ton = 2000lb
3/4 ton = 1500lb
1/2 ton = 1000lb
Without taking the time to do the research, certain configurations of the Tundra (like 2wd, non crew cab) might offer payloads in the 1500lb neighborhood.
Like I already posted, some versions of the Tundra have a payload over 2000 lbs... Most Tundras have a payload of over 1500 lbs. They aren't the dog that everyone claims they are...
It will 'actually' be less by the weight of the options, people, etc
loaded into/onto the TV
'Payload', 'Cargo rating', etc are based on the 'curb' vehicle weight
'Curb' is the stripper model with no options and some times no driver
and other times one driver weighing 150lbs
This misconception is okay, as it is the same game all to most all
OEMs play for their 'cargo rating' and 'payload rating'...
