You got it - farm/ranch fuel. And if one gets caught on a public road with that fuel in the vehicle, a big fine results (I'm told). I pretty much burned it up off road, and have since run the tank almost dry twice and filled with over 40 gals of legal fuel -- so I think/hope I'm safe.
I don't think I've ever left the water heater or water pump on when I'm not in the camper. And the propane was off, too.
