I bought my Delorme inReach because of several features that were important to me when working remotely:
1) the tracking feature that my wife could see via email
2) the messaging feature that let me notify her that I was ok
3) the SOS capability should I get into a serious situation
4) it works when out of cellphone coverage because it uses the global Iridium satellite constellation.
5) I can shut off monthly charges when I don't need it with their Freedom Plan.
Recommended.
