Not sure if you are talking about a 1500 or the 2500/3500's but when I ordered my 3500 last February the integrated brake controller was part of the package. May be a different story for the 1500's. I don't remember ordering it as a separate item. I did order the fifth wheel wiring harness which was a $35 option. It is a loose good length of the needed 7 wires to install a 7 pin connector in your bed, which I did. It works very well, by the way. One note, on the 2014's and below there was a problem with the factory brake controller recognizing electric over hydraulic brakes but not with the 15's. I had a 2012 GMC 3500 srw prior to the new one in my sig line and there was a work around to make it work with the disc brakes on my fifth wheel. Probably more than you need to know but just relating my experience.
