I wonder if you can buy new 3" hitch from Ford that would fit your older model?
I love the 3", where 4 ft stinger cost me $40 and per my rough calculation is stronger than Torklift stingers.
Used it also to convert my truck to portable crane with my engine hoist.
I posted a picture before -showing that Ford's heavy hitches have brackets reaching rear springs mounts, not just attached to the rear of the frame.
