Trailer tires

The ST rating doesn't mean they must be limited to 65 and some better tires aren't.
I'm not sure if they make your size but Goodyear makes the "Endurance" ST tire here in the USA and it is rated for 86 MPH max.
So far, they are getting very good reviews and I have them on my new TT.

New gen ST tires like the Providers.......Carlisle new HD......and Goodyears new made in the USA Endurance carry a 75-81 mph speed rating.
The Providers have been around since the '11 era and have a excellent track record in the larger sizes for commercial and rv trailers.

Carlisle HD and Goodyear Endurance ST tires has been out for about a year. They seem popular but no track record yet.

When Maxxis first came out they were popular however 3-4 years down the road and they also started having issues......so it takes time.

Yeah, you're confused ... ST means "Special Trailer" and has nothing to do with it's speed rating. Like many others, I recently installed a set of Goodyear Endurance ST205/75 R14 on my own dual axle trailer - 8 ply, Load Range D tires manufactured in the US, to replace the crappy 6 ply, Load Range C off shore tires that came with the trailer, one of which recently self destructed.

IMHO, driving a trailer with 13" wheels at 65mph is a "tire problem" waiting to happen. Can you you use bigger rimed wheels on your RV i.e. 15". ? Would make a big difference.

Back when the national speed limit was 55 mph 12"-13" trailers tire started showing up on mostly boat trailers and small rv and non rv trailers.
Even at 60-65 mph there really turning very high rpms........rpms carrying a load = lots of heat in this small tire.
I would slow down or if possible upgrade to a 15" P or LT or stay with the new gen higher speed rated ST tire.

Good grief, if the OP's trailer was originally spec'd to use 13" tires and he can't find replacements he's comfotable with then upgrading wheels & tires to 14" would be more than sufficient. :)

"Keeping up with traffic" and 13" trailer tires doesn't mix. You will not find a quality ST tire in 13", so slow down or park it.

You might be able to up size the wheels, but the axles and bearings are probably marginal as well.

Maxxis 8008 ST tires have a speed rating of Q, which is 99mph. However, they state that is dependent on load. As you increase speed you need to increase PSI up to the tires limit and decrease load. Check their load tables for what PSI is needed for your trailers weight.

From Maxxis:
"From 66 to 75 MPH – the tire inflation pressure needs to increase 10 PSI (not to exceed the maximum PSI the tire is rated for) but requires no load adjustment.
From 76 to 85 MPH – the tire inflation pressure needs to increase 10 PSI (not to exceed the maximum PSI the tire is rated for) and load should be reduced by 10%."

I would start by keeping the air pressure at hte max stated on the side wall regardless of load.
