Trailer Valuation

We are thinking about selling our 2012 Rockwood Ulta Lite TT. Any recommendations on determining the value?

Thanks as usual for the anticipated assistance.

Really the value is what you think someone will pay for it. NADA is a good starting point, but remember that those values are based on dealer transactions. That price includes all of the dealer's profit on the unit. You might have a hard time hitting those numbers when selling to a private party. Private parties are normally looking for deals that are priced lower than what you'll find on the dealer's lot. Places like RV Trader are good sources of asking prices. Set your asking price a little higher than what you want because everyone is going to want to negotiate down. Even if you put that the price is firm.
  • Value is determined by the buyer . Ask too much , no one will look at it , ask too low and people will think its a scam .
  • A good starting point is NADA RV Guides. Since yours is a 2012 model, you'll find an accurate listing. But beware, the values quoted may be quite high or low depending on your circumstances. When we traded in our FW a couple of years ago, the NADA guide said it was worth $17K, which sounded about right to me. However, when I traded it in, the dealer offered me $27K which surprised the heck out of me. This was after they'd already quoted me a reasonable price on our new one. I made sure I signed the contract right away before they took the offer off the table!
