I'm glad Mark chimed in since I based my reply on what I understand he had previously explained to us on another website, but I might not have gotten it all right. There are many myths and misconceptions on these coolings systems and I just don't have enough ammo to dispelled them adequately. I was close to using my infamous "hogwash" comment when I saw all these OTAs before the OTW and the gibberish about warming the tranny, but was able to hold my tongue in this case.
I'm also a firm believer in too much can be bad in this case since transmissions are designed to operate at a certain temp range(approx 170 to 180 IIRC) which also helps keep any moisture build up down and cooling systems are designed for certain flow characeristics for best efficiency and mucking around with those exacting design parameters with some of these add on 'aux' systems can have adverse effects overall IMO.
