Transport costs

I live full time in central Texas in my 31.5 ft 2016 Dutchmen Coleman travel trailer with 1 slide. Thinking of moving permanently to Florida. Pretty sure my Ford Focus won't tow it! Anyone have any knowledge / experience as to what a professional RV transport company might charge for a 1000+ mile transport like that?

Paying for it out of my own pocket, which is why I am looking for help. I know I can get quotes, but I want some idea of what a fair cost might be.
  • I agree with bobndot, $2000 seems likely. $1500 would probably be dirt cheap.
  • theres people who this for a living look up rv transporters on google see what pops up ,
  • Thanks! That $2000 ballpark figure is exactly the kind of reply I was looking for. It tells me if the quotes I'm getting are reasonable or not
  • From Cedar creek tx to Orlando Fl is about 1000 mi.
I would think a transport will cost you around $2k. plus the transporter will use a transporter plate to tow it over the road.

If you plan to tow it yourself, then you need a WD hitch, truck rental, plus mileage and the TT needs to be registered. Then you need to get your Ford to fl. as well.

Im not sure if its worth it to tow it yourself using a rental. Especially if you need to return for the car. You really have to crunch the numbers.
  • Rent a truck and tow it yourself? Probably save you a ton of $$$ just a suggestion.
