I grew up in IL less than 2 hours from St Louis. If you haven't been there before then of course one should take the ride up to top of the arch at least once in your lifetime. Get some bbq beef ribs.
If you've been there then I 2nd the trip north and going to Moline. See the JD museum and tour the factory where they make combines.
The Minuteman site sounds pretty cool too.
