This is your key issue. You are fine in power (towing capacity) - it's your load that is sketchy. Your Expedition may have less than 1,500 in payload (as said, check the door jam). 800-900, or so, of that will go to the trailer, another 75 will be eaten up by the weight of the WD hitch. All in all, you will probably have 500 pounds, or so, of payload to work with. If you, your wife, and everything you will put in the Expedition will add up to less than that, you will be fine. If you plan to pack a lot of gear in the truck, take grandkids or friends, etc...you will probably end up over you GVWR.
