Let me start by saying, i have no experience with either the ford ecoboost nor a TT that size.
A friend of mine has a comparable size TT (think his is actually heavier), he had a f150 v8 and upgraded to Dodge 3500 single axle. He went on a trip out west (grand canton, places in Texas and utah) including boondocking.
After he got back from the trip, he said there was no way he'd been happy on that trip with his ford.
The reason why he opted for v8 over ecoboost was at advice from dealer he bought it from.
