Just had installed ST225/75R15 Carlisle radial HD's. Hopefully they pan out. We've had quite a number of trailers & a 5er but have never replaced tires. I guess we don't have them long enough or we have too much money, or to little gray matter. LOL

Manny Manny thanks for the suggestions. I'm taking all tires recommend to my local dealer to see what he has available. I am very interested in the comment re 15' tires. Again thanks to all for your help.

Another thought: I recently purchased an older camper that originally came with 14" tires that needed to be replaced.

I quickly discovered that 14" tires are no longer as common a size as when the camper was new. After some careful measurement, I determined that current 15" tires and wheels would fit my camper without modification (i.e., same bolt pattern and there was enough clearance).

If your trailer can handle it, I highly recommend this approach: I got tires with a higher weight rating than 14" tires. Another reason I took this approach: If I were to need a new tire while on the road, I'll likely find 15" tires in stock without problem. 14" tires can still be found, but I suspect many tire shops will have to order them.

The answer to your question is to buy a name brand from a reputable dealer who will stand behind it.

As most all tires are made in the far east, the name brands usually have tighter manufacturing standards.

Any tire, regardless of cost, you put on your TT will puncture with a road hazard. It will shred if driven substantial distance.

Since the Kumho's are getting so hard to find these Hankook's are starting to get some good reviews. I always like Maxxis but you can't get an ST Maxxis in a "D" LR. Check maxxis for their commercial tire in a 14" D rated (Maxxis UE168n bravo)

Carlisle Radial RH or better yet...their newest the Radial HD.

I ran the 14" Radial RH tens of thousands of miles on my previous TT before I sold it and they were fantastic tires.

The new camper will get the Radial HD's sooner than later.

The ones I got were rated to 87 MPH, and 40% more than the load I expect to carry. So, their rating has plenty of margin for how they'll actually be used. I'm hoping that will mean a long and troublefree life.

I also have purchased Gladiator tires , they seem to be doing well for me.
