Traveling in the Pete

My wife came for a run in the Peterbilt with me. I asked her how she liked riding in a real truck. She said "WHAT" I said "HOW DO YOU LIKE RIDING IN A REAL TRUCK." From that point on we had a very peaceful time together. Maybe that's why people buy these things for RVs. :)
  • Drove a 68 Pete with a 4 and 4 loved driving that old thing. Talked the boss out of selling it a few times but he finial did.Ahh, when truckin was truckin:B

The Pete I drove had a Cummins for power and a 5&4 transmission to keep it going. Those that never drove one, really don't know that much about trucking.

Most kids now would not know what to do with an old two stick.

When I drove truck for a couple of years (in-state logistics, not over the road) we had an old Pete, a new Pete, and an old GM dump truck. Both old trucks had "two-sticks".....everybody always fought to get the new Pete.

Being the low guy on the totem pole, I spent more time than I wanted to with the two-stick approach.

Made a conscious effort to forget it once I moved on.;)
