We have 3 cats that stay home alone for up to 10 days with no worries other than a random hair ball. We put out plenty of food and water for them and there have always been left overs when we get home. For potty facilities I set a kids plastic pool in the back room and add 2 bags of litter. Neighbor visits them a time or two but doesn't have to do anything but pet them.
If I had a kitten that could be trained to travel and stay in the camper that would be fun but these older cats just don't take to new tricks very well. Not worth the stress for either of us.
