Traveling with open windows

Can you travel with your trailer windows open or not...I seen a couple rv's on the road with them wide open
  • We accidentally left a sliding window open once. After that our mini-blinds had a not so nice crinkled look to them.
  • We travel with windows closed BUT ceiling vents open. In the summer it can get hotter inside the rig than the ambient temp so keeping the vents open helps to circulate the cooler air from outside.
  • Leaving the window wide open can result in the drapes getting blown off the wall, which has happened to me a few times. Leaving a window cracked a little doesn't hurt, but some windows have a tendency to open themselves alot more as you drive, if they're not shut and latched. That has happened to me too.

I don't worry about dust. I've always camped in dusty areas anyways.
  • I leave my roof vents open in the summer time. I also have the air/weather deflectors
  • Agree, all you'll accomplish is getting dust and dirt inside.
  • As a rule, we leave nothing open. You may not be able to see it, but whatever dust or dirt is floating in the air gets sucked in to your TT and covers everything in it. We will open windows/vents if we're parked for a meal or at an attraction.

We close ours up tight. Lots of dust flying around on the roads.
  • we leave ours open a little unless its raining while on the road

we also leave the roof vents open but we have those cover/deflectors over them

I would not leave them wide open
