TravelLite 690 Camper

Living in Utah and looking to a TraveLight 690FD camper and noticed that they are around 4K cheaper in Minnesota. Does anyone know why? To save 4k I would totally drive to Minnesota but don't want to get out there and find that the sales tax is like 30%.

  • Check with DMV . WE bought in SC and paid tax per NC requirements when getting the permanent registration in NC. I THINK that is pretty much how it is done.
  • Right, Bumpyroad. My most recent TT was located in AZ...shipped to CA for sale...and I paid CA sales taxes.
  • do you pay sales tax on a trailer or is it "taxed" as a vehicle where registered. perhaps the MN dealer would waive sales tax in MN as you would be paying registration, etc. in your home state. that is sort of how my boat trailer was "taxed".

  • And you factored in paying Utah's sales tax?

"If you purchase an item from an out-of-state retailer for use in Utah and the retailer does not collect the tax, you must pay the use tax directly to the Tax Commission."
