I would use a 250/2500 series truck with a weight distributing hitch.

TT vs is really personal choice. A 35 ft TT takes up more combined towing length than a 35 ft 5th wheel because the 5th wheel is over the rear axle of the truck opposed to hanging off the rear bumper.
5th wheels have steps inside, so people with bad knees etc often switch to TT's where a flat floorplan (like a ranch house) is easier to get around inside.
5th wheels also have beefy frames and beefy rear bumpers with hitch platforms to haul bicycles etc. TT bumpers tend to be a tad flimsy.
Many people like the stable way the 5th wheel tows , however, a properly set up TT using a WD hitch can be just fine.
