Tri-fold or Roll up cover?

I have the Truxedo Lo Pro. It is a roll up style. I like it because it gives you full access to use the whole bed when needed and does not block the rear window.

Are you going to add an auxiliary fuel tank/tool box to the bed of your truck ? If so, you might want to do that first as most covers can have interference issues with the top of the tank. That's why I ended up going with a Truxedo TruXport roll up tonneau cover. $300. I'm real happy with it.

Glad to hear your Extang is holding up. Looks like you are just about due east of where we live! About 1hr straight west on I69 from Port Huron, Mi. My concern was when we go snowmobiling and need to load up if the cover was covered with ice & snow. Some trips are in Ont, about an hour outside of Sault Ste. Marie. But as I mentioned we decided on a cab high topper again for the new beast. But good info if I go that route next time!

Thought so. I was very happy with the set up of the Full Tilt when I had one. Sweet it fits better on the new ride!!!

It's an Extang with the 2 handles on each side. It actually fits BETTER on the 2013 F150!

I appreciate all the inputs, I am going to go with the Tonno-Pro hard trifold. That seems to meet all the needs I want it for.

I had the same thoughts last fall, and ended up purchasing the Tonno Pro soft tri-fold. I'm very happy with that decision. The cover is light and easy to take on/off. It's holding up well with our cold and snow this winter.

My concern with a tri-fold was in winter if any ice/snow was on the tonneau it may damage it.

I live in the great white north and have never had any problems with snow or ice on my Extang cover. It even stays flexible to fold up in extreme cold. Occassionally the edge seals will freeze to the truck rails but pull loose pretty easily. The nice thing with the soft cover is that the snow breaks loose and comes off easy when it flexes.

Only real downside is the cover material can flap against the cross rails at speed. A little annoying noise wise if you like to ride with the windows down.
