Panamint Springs gas station gas and diesel prices were the same price, $5.98 a gallon. For some reason there was no waiting at the pumps!! :h :E
General DV backcountry camping is: more than two miles away from any developed area, paved road, or "day use" area. For more specific information the Death Valley NPS website has more specific information on places NOT allowed. For instance we camped on Cottonwood Canyon Road, but it's not allowed the first 8 miles. Wouldn't recommend it for many TC's though. If the single track deep sand doesn't get you the drop into the loose gravel wash probably will. I stopped at mile 9 in frustration as the lack of skid plates made me extremely nervous.
No camping along Titus Canyon road either. Check the Visitor Center or DV NPS website for complete backcountry information.
