Thursday - Back to Telemark
It was 9:30 AM and properly raining. I walked over to the campground bar to buy another token for the shower. The ex-paraglider was sat with his girlfriend outside the bar. "Morning" I said - "It's morning already?" she replied. People talk about having rings around your eyes the morning after, but she looked like she had drawn them on with a lipstick.

Traffic was light as we headed back up the switchbacks. The weather wasn't any more cheerful at the top of the mountain - not a good day for those planning to hike to that suspended boulder.

The bad weather changed our mood and we considered getting an earlier ferry back to Denmark. I phoned the company I booked the ferry through and they in turn phoned the ferry company. The earlier ferry would have cost us an extra €137 on top of the mere £66 we had paid for it in the first place - so I abandoned that idea.

The nice thing about travelling with the camper is the ability to stop anywhere and have a mobile kitchen. Lunch by a lake with some warming soup:

As we headed east it seemed we were heading into better weather:

We passed another outdoor museum with more of those cabins:

We were heading along the west side of the Telemark Canal - a series of lakes joined to make a canal, when another good boondocking spot became evident:

The only sound was a woodpecker. An otter arrowed across the lake. This was pretty much the perfect spot.

We relaxed; I read part of a Ray Mears bushcraft book; a solitary fisherman floated down the lake.
Stay tuned for the south coast...
