Now that Steve and Sally have delivered the camper to Southend and it is about 1/2 way to being repaired... the tear down phase. I try to talk with Southend every couple of weeks... Just checking in.
Yesterday I talked with Dave the extraordinar... yes the extraordinary rebuilder at Southend RV Repair. (I don't know how else to describe him... his skill level is extremely high in everything we've seen him do in all of the rebuild pictures)
I was checking to see if they were going to be removing my Generac generator... I'd like to have it overhauled. We have used it thousands of hours and thought that it would be a good time.
When I recently reread PJ's 2015 rebuild on RV.net I noticed that Dave had removed PJ's generator because of some rot damage in the area. I didn't know if I had some Rot too.
Dave told me that we don't have any problems visible in that area... that our 1161 camper isn't as bad as PJ or Harolds 1161's. He didn't foresee removing the Generator and he went on to say that there really isn't anyone that he would recommend to work on the Generac in the immediate area.
I mentioned that I'd had a new starter put on our generator at Johnny Walker RV in Las Vegas in 2009... Dave knew of them and recommended we stop there on the way home. I'll have to phone Ken Allen the Johnny Walker shop boss and see if they are still doing the Generacs. (Any one have any comments or suggestions?)
Dave and I talked about their progress so far... that I'm very pleased.
We all hope that PJ gets a chance to take a few pictures before "heclipses" ... he deserves a break after the hours he's been putting in... playing in the BIG boats.
Thanks to all of you for following along and keeping us on track
