Monday - Leaving it all behind
Monday morning the last of us went our separate ways – many were woken by the Jefe4x4's Cummins alarm clock. Sally and I bid farewell to bka0721 before he had to start work tidying up the show grounds and btggraphix and LaDawn before finally heading out.

We headed north and then turned right at Flagstaff onto I40 then left, heading towards Canyon de Chelly. We stopped for a drink here on the way, but despite being a beautiful spot right next to the highway, no-one else stopped. I know I ate a lot at Expo, but I didn't put that much weight on over the weekend, so my story is that the wind is inflating my T-shirt in this picture, honest:

For the first time in ages the weather started to look ominous:

Arriving at the Canyon de Chelly in the early evening we toured the south rim road. Few other tourists were there and the evening light was ideal for viewing the canyon.

This is the bit everyone goes there for:

As with many of the places we have visited, it would be lovely to dedicate several days to each, hiking or exploring by Jeep, but on this trip we just didn't have the time.
We camped at the private campground just behind the rim.

The others residents of the camp ground were quite noisy:

But, it was a nice spot to watch the sun go down:

Stay tuned as we head further north east...
