Wednesday - "Who lives in a town like this?"
First stop Durango for a late breakfast:

Grrrr, Sally caught evidence of me working when I should have been eating:

What a fantastic little town. Sally even started looking at real estate in the windows. Now who would be lucky enough to move to a place like this?

Then over the mountains to Silverton. Beautiful views everywhere – we made very slow progress as we kept stopping every few minutes.




Then onto Black Canyon of the Gunnisons. A very impressive place.

I liked the comparison that two Empire State buildings could be stood on top of one another in this narrow canyon.
As with yesterday we used the park campground, though this one was only $12 and had a nice little walking trail to the canyon edge - a bargain.
