Thursday - I thought this place would be empty!A long drive today up to Rocky Mountain NP. On the way we stopped at Montrose and took the cable car to the top for the view. The little capsules do bob around in the wind, so it’s not for everyone.
Approaching Rocky Mountain NP I decided to try Willow Creek campground in the Arapaho National Forest.
A lovely spot, but despite being 5 miles up a dirt road it was quite busy, and with the forest pass it would have cost $23 (including the mandatory day use pass), which seems pretty expensive. We got a $4 discount because there was no water available on site.
