Yes, the Fordyce Lake road starts at Cisco Grove C.G. and winds over the hill and down to the lake. At the lake it makes an abrupt left turn onto a much more hard core trail down to the "committee crossing", a spot where officials sometime jump off the trail about 2/3's of the way thru. There is no direct road connection between it and Meadow Lake.
I've never done the Fordyce when the water was low. We had water coming across the gunnels on one side and out the other. You must have your air cleaner up high and your axle breathers as high as possible and don't stall. A couple guys crossed in way-lifted jeeps and all you could see was the windshield and the top of the steering wheel and upper 1/4 of the driver. Too scary for me, although we did that a few time in the past.
