Trip to Bull Trout Lake

Spent a few days at Bull Trout Lake, Idaho.

Was great to get out of the heat of the Boise Valley. Bull Trout at 7000 feet was a welcome treat. Highs low 70's and lows in the low 50's.

I almost didn't go as the forecast was for heavy rain in the mtns.
But as usual the forecast was wrong!! Had a few showers, mostly at night or early morning.

Fishing was great, catching not so much!!! :B

And spaced out very well as you can see.





No neighbors either direction.







I have been modifying my little canoe for rougher waters and built some outriggers that tested out well. Also a motor mount for trolling on waters where motors are actually allowed!! OOPS!!



I feel so blessed to live in this wonderful state!!!

    RickW ~ Yes, fishing rod holders

    BradW ~ Cutthroat. Some Bull Trout but are protected and must be released unharmed.

    CFC ~ Didn't see any burned areas

    Bull Trout Lake is a great place to visit during the full summer heat as OP stated. Lots of camping opportunities plus miles of single track trail in all directions.

    You can access the Yankee Fork, Valley Creek and the Warm Springs Airport/Bonneville Hot Spring area via single track trail system.

    Thanks for the trip I needed one today. I love how secluded it looks. Way to go with the boat looks good. I bet you cant wait to try it on a lake you can have a motor on ;) ;)

    DJ - I thought Bull Trout lake CG got burned out a couple of years ago. I remember that it was closed for a season.
