Trip to Bull Trout Lake

Spent a few days at Bull Trout Lake, Idaho.

Was great to get out of the heat of the Boise Valley. Bull Trout at 7000 feet was a welcome treat. Highs low 70's and lows in the low 50's.

I almost didn't go as the forecast was for heavy rain in the mtns.
But as usual the forecast was wrong!! Had a few showers, mostly at night or early morning.

Fishing was great, catching not so much!!! :B

Arriving at camp.

Very spacious camp spots

And spaced out very well as you can see.

No neighbors either direction.

I have been modifying my little canoe for rougher waters and built some outriggers that tested out well. Also a motor mount for trolling on waters where motors are actually allowed!! OOPS!!

I feel so blessed to live in this wonderful state!!!
  • Man, what a beautiful spot, it's hard to go back to civilization after seeing that. Nice setup on the canoe too!
  • You have a cool setup there. I love seeing pictures like this, makes me want to get out and explore!
  • What kind of trout are in that lake?

Your pictures remind me a lot of Pearl Lake north of Steamboat.

Are you using rod holders to position the outriggers?
  • Nice spot. The canoe looks good, nice job rigging it out. I know exactly what you mean " fishing was good" ....
