Trouble removing dome ceiling light lenses

With my last TT I switched most of the ceiling dome lights over to LED bulbs. When I traded it in last month, I put back all the regular bulbs, and now I want to replace with LED in the new TT. But I can't figure out how to get the lenses off the dome lights. The lenses on the last TT were easy to remove, just squeaze and then pull down. These lenses are much more rigid and I can't get them to flex. I can grab a hold of the end of the lens and pull down, but it feels like I'm going to break something. The owner's manual lists nothing about lights. Before I force something, I wanted to see if anyone else experienced this issue. Below is a photo of the dome lights I have in my TT.

  • Doug, poke around on Ebay, you should be able to find adapter cables from China that will convert the push in (wedge) base to a bayonet type socket.

Failing that, this website might have something you can use:

Can you post a picture of your LED bulbs, it might not be hard to modify them to fit your new lights.

I have the same fixtures in my Sportsmen, I can post a picture of some "DIY" type wedge connectors I made up, if you're interested.

Thank you for your info. I eventually managed to get a lens off - it takes quite a bit of force as they are seated fairly well.

Unfortunately, the type of bulbs that are in this TT are different than the ones I had in the previous TT. The old one had the round twist sockets (car type), while this new TT has the flat push in types. So I'm bummed I have 10 LED bulbs that I can't use now, and they weren't cheap. :(
