A second or third battery is even easier. Mechanically, it's the same battery in a box in the bed.
Electrically, you just need two wires, a fuse, and connectors to tie it in parallel with your existing battery(s).
We did exactly that with our old Alpenlite. It really helped extend battery operation in cold weather boondocking.
