I thought this might be of interest to my TC trucking friends.I have a 2013 RAM as described in my signature, on one of the RAM boards I read about the lack of a cabin air filter for these trucks. But it turns out there are two ways to install an air filter. One on the outside air inlet the other under the glove box.I purchased my exterior filter set up from Geno's Garage for my RAM. The maker of the air filter is Cabin Fresh Filter Co. GM stopped putting cabin air filters in the GMT800 body style trucks, in 02 I think... BUT they can be added to the 03-07 Classics with a a door kit that GM sells. You have to cut out the spot where the door goes, but it's easily done with a dremel or hot knife. I need to do it to my 06.As for the GMT900 body style (07.5-2014)... I haven't researched it.

Wish I had taken a picture of that filter. I guarantee if you had seen the filter you would understand why they are used.

Most people's house and the walk to the car/truck is not on the freeway, and speaking for myself, I don't hold my breath while I walk from the house to the truck or my car either. However, I DO sit in traffic with my Subaru Outback sometimes for 2 hours at a time every day commuting to work; often not moving.. The air on the freeway or being stuck behind any other vehicle is nasty. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking advantage of any built in filter system available (or added)to help reduce the particulates, etc. that are in the air in that extremely unhealthy, dirty air situation. Why not? It' not like one is trying to sterilize the air..but rather to help improve what one is breathing while in a vehicle. :)

Cabin air filters in autos serve the same purpose as the filter in your HVAC system in your house.
