The debate will range on for the rest of time. Sadly people tend to forget one important thing. Brand loyalty tends to be very regional. For instance if you live In Texas the only truck you will buy is Chevrolet. Live in rural America and you will generally buy the brand that your local dealer sells. Large cities tend to have more diversity with Ford with more dealerships selling more trucks. Cities with good Chrysler dealerships will see more Rams in the area.
Any of the current crop of trucks are capable of doing the job, as long as they are properly matched to the load. If not any of them can be a piece of junk. Ford 6.0L exempted of course!
