Truck mods

I added the timbrens and went with KYB Monomax shocks. The timbrens eliminated the excess sag and the KYB have improved cornering. The stock shocks were fine for the first 4 years. Michelin LTX M/S2 tires: lower rolling resistance and better wear.

I installed my camper leveling gauges in the cab of the truck. This way I can see when to stop in a campsite for better leveling.

All you do is get the camper level then glue the gauges in with silicone with the indicators pointing level. Put one on the door, where you can see it, for front to back leveling. Put one on the dash if you like for side to side. The one on the dash is optional. Just about anyone can tell real close if that way is level or not.

When you go to trade in your truck the silicone will rub off.

I would buy a set of 5 new tires. And always rotate the fifth spare in with the rest. They seam to last forever that way. It is worth every penny.

Well IMO If you already have the supersprings, sway bar, and shocks then I would add timbrens and air bags and do not forget your tires and wheels as well.

Background: I had been debating getting a larger truck and making it a mix of a homebuilt class c and a truck camper then decided that'd be a lot of work to end up with exactly what I have now. So I decided to improve upon the existing setup. And I like conversations that allow me to daydream about improvements.

Permanent mount then open access to the cab. I come from a heavy diy offroad background so I'm constantly looking at things and trying to make them suit my specific needs.

I am curious to know what you had in mind to make it a class C ?

Way beyond cost prohibitive. Plus it's paid for. I don't have the time in the workforce some of you have so all my debts are still new and fresh. Not to mention student loans and (fingers crossed) the beginnings of a family.

And not to mention, the camper is a secondary hobby with the rockcrawler, 65 stang fastback and two other restorations I've got going.

Shocks (everyone has differing thoughts on what's best. I like Rancho RS9000X.
Something to supplement the springs, Supersprings, Torklift Stableloads, etc. I run Stableloads.

Have you upgraded your shocks? I ask becuase the Dodge shocks are junk and the Bilsteins solved most of my handling issues. I mounted a sway bar on before the Bilsteins and it didn't seem help. I would step into the back of the camper and it would rock and roll until I replaced the shocks. Now it is solid. I have airbags for leveling, swaybar, and the Bilsteins. 2006 megacab diesel w/ Lance 830.
