The remote start on my truck works similarly. When started remotely, some of the accessories do not power up. The upfitter switches that I’m using don’t receive power, and if I’m not mistaken the climate control doesn’t power up. The truck will only run about 15 minutes before it shuts itself down as well.
Downside? Excessive idling, which isn’t good for modern Diesel engines.
