Ford Superduty trucks have a Battery Charge Protect mode built into the ECM that can be enabled by a tech. You have to hook up a wire that’s already under the dash to one of the upfitter switches to turn it on and off. When on, the ECM monitors the battery voltage and will manipulate the the regulator and engine RPM to maintain good battery charging. The 2015 and newer trucks can actually do quite a bit without increasing the engine RPM.

This is same function that the VSIM option does on the Ram. I knew I was not going to idle my truck to charge the TC and did not get it.
