X3, plus to add that a repair shop has expenses that a nationwide auto parts store can spread across 1000's of stores.
You'll probably crab, "Well they should be charging a labor rate that covers all that!" The problem is you complain about the labor rate too! A well-managed repair shop will split their expenses between parts AND labor so as to keep them both at "ridiculous" instead of losing money on parts and charging a "ludicrous" labor rate.
You get too high on one or the other, and you lose customers.
