Our travel trailer has a max weight of 7600#. So it seems only the 3 big trucks in the 2500/250 series will cut it. Or maybe something else? My question is, if we are wanting to only spend around $20...

Another vote for the 6.0 gas GM 2500HD, preferably with the 6-spd. In addition to the best bang for your buck, it's probably the easiest to find.
