Truck Weighed with Lance 830 (Conclusion Pics)

I just weighed my truck and 2012 Lance 830 with only 1/4 fresh water and no food/clothing etc. and without my 2 older boys and wife. Just me and my 6 year old.

Front: 4120
Rear: 6440
Total: 10560

6440 on the rear axle puts me 50 lbs. over on the tires right now without 3 more passengers, food, clothing, hitch extension bike rack and bikes.

Even 18" tires/wheels aren't going to be enough.

I have to buy 19.5's or look into a dually.

Problem is I don't like the power of my truck now with the 6.2 gas and 3.73 gears and am concerned I will like it less with a 2" taller and heavier tire, forcing me to re-gear to 4.30's. $4000 into this truck or $4000 toward a dually?

I knew it.

  • I am in the process of setting up my new-to-me '04 Dodge Dsl Dually to carry my 4200 lb TC that I have carried for 12 years on my '96 Dodge Dsl SRW. I have 19.5s on my SRW.

My changing trucks is for creature comforts, and the DRW came up at the right price. I have had DRW trucks in the past, and have no obsession with them, but will say they typically have less need for suspension upgrades. I do not need 19.5s on my DRW.

What ever you do, I encourage you to go with a diesel (power), and if a SRW, 19.5s (load capacity).
