If you're talking new you're also talking about a 6+ speed transmission with an ultra-low first gear and a better spread of gears the rest of the way through. 4.10 is not necessarily necessary. 3.73 may be overkill.
When you start getting into 4.10 and lower ratios with a 6+ speed, you reduce 1st gear to a useless "granny gear" where the engine is wound out at an obnoxiously slow speed and shifting into 2nd.
A lot of you old school guys remember the 4-speed sticks with the granny gear, don't you? You almost never used that gear, and even when you did you probably could've gotten away without it.
