Don't confuse empty weight with GVW or loaded weight. Empty weight doesn't take in account, batteries, propane, and fresh or waste water, spare tire or any options. my SUV is rated to pull 5,000# I am looking at trailers in the 14 to 17 foot range with empty weights under 3,000#. I've been doing this for over 40 years and know what a bad experience it is to tow more than you should. Takes all the fun out of it. Smaller trailer or bigger truck. No other options.
