TT <28' with good front windows and good rear windows?

First of all, thanks for feedback on a few other "floorplan" threads I have started on this forum. As we have looked at a lot of trailers and spent more time trailering, we are getting a better idea what are higher priorities.

With that said, good front windows and good rear windows is toward the top of the priority list. I am not finding that many trailers that have both, and would appreciate any suggestions. Trying to stay under 28' if possible. Would like a side slide if possible to open up the interior.

Here are the few I have found as an example of what I am talking about. They range from 25'-28' overall length.

Thank you :)

  • Thank you for the thoughts above. Regarding the Rockwood 2604, I just looked up the version you are referring to with sofa and dinette in the slide.

I also saw the version below, which looks like it would be a little shorter with only the dinette in the slide. However, I don't know what year this is and couldn't find specs. It says 2009, but the 2009 brochure I looked at shows sofa and dinette in the slide.

Also came across this 2603 which was around 27' I think.

  • You don't say how many of you are in your traveling family, but with only two of us, we didn't have enough room to sit comfortably at the U shaped dinette table. And if you put two more people at the back side of the table, not only is there no room for four sets of legs, but you can't comfortably set the table for four. We took out the back section of that booth and made it into bench seating. Then we had a table made that goes all the way to the wall. We can seat four adults and there is even room on the table for serving dishes.

IMO, the booth looks good, but If you decide on that trailer, be sure to have everyone actually sit at the table and try it out.

The other thing you might want to consider is that those front windows are a prime spot for leaks to start. We had that problem in our last trailer.

I was beginning to think we're the only ones who have/had a Rockwood 2604. Just got ours in May and love it!!! The bedroom is in the front and has a decent size window - could have a larger window, but the 2 wardrobes and cabinets above the bed would be lost. An awesome bathroom! Sofa bed with air mattress + dinette are in the deep slide and have 4 windows. The rear has a huge window with 2 swivel rockers in front. It's looking on the new Rockwood brochure that they may have done away with the 2604 and have only the 2604W, which has an additional slide with huge wardrobe. In our case, we have no need for that large a wardrobe + the weight + the $$. It's very open and light. This may be what you're after. You can take a look online at RVWholesalers and I believe they still have the floorplan shown and possibly pictures of the interior. It's a perfect 26' trailer for us.

The Rockwood 2604 is a nice looking TT, but the length is actually 29.08', not 26'. The cargo capacity beyond so called "dry weight" is only 1025 lbs. Since dry weight doesn't include accessories, much less propane, water, food, camping supplies, etc., the cargo capacity is a little bit light, IMHO.

I say these things, and yet we own a Rockwood 2109S, which has been an enjoyable TT with few problems. We have liked it, but plan to move up to a larger TT, and hope to find a floor plan that suits us with a larger cargo capacity.

  • Forest River 28WRBS - V-Lite Travel Trailer has a unique "V" nose for aerodynamics which appears to give it more windows too...front and rear. Also have a 26 ft version.

  • We had a Rockwood 2604 that a large slide, rear windows but a smaller window in the front bedroom, plus a side window in the bedroom. We enjoyed this unit and found the floor plan very usable for a 2-3 week vacation.
