TT Electric battery maintenance

OK I am wondering about this and maybe some of you can help.
I have a adapter that goes onto my electric plug that converts 115volt 3 prong plug into my TT plug. My question is, will this allow me to run anything in the TT while parked at home? Will this allow the converter to keep the battery charged?
Can I leave it plugged in indefinitely while in storage to keep battery charged? My battery loses about 50% of it's charge just sitting in the drive by what I assume is phantom drain for co detector and radio. I usually just put on trickle charge every 3 or 4 days to refresh the battery but I hear I shouldn't let the battery get below 50% charge to maintain life. True?
New to this and wondering if this will work if I keep an extension cord with adapter plugged into TT plug or if I should just disconnect the battery when not in use. Is a battery cut off switch worth the cost? Still don't understand all the electricals of my TT and getting ready for a 3 day trial run close to home. We intend to do quite a lot of both boondocking and staying in full service parks every three or four days to wash clothes and drain tanks. What do you experienced campers have to suggest? Thanks
