Are most TT showerheads interchangeable and installed the same way? Ours does not have a On/Off button on it and I would like to replace it with one that does.

Can't answer for yours, but ours was easy to replace. It cracked over the winter and we found a new (and better) showerhead at our local RV supply place. Very easy to put on & it works great.

Yes they are interchangeable, but they all allow for a trickle of water to flow when shutoff... If you are a boondocker, this can be a problem.Since water flows thru the course of least resistance, it means that after you get the hot/cold mix just right, and then use a shutoff that reduces the flow to a trickle.... That when turning the shut off back on, you will get a shot of usually cold water, or in some cases hot. This is due to the fact that the trickle allows cold water (which usually has lower plumbing resistance) to replace the mixed warm water that was in the lines when it was shutoff. As a boondocker this means wasted water as you let it run to get the temp right again.There is a simple cheap solution that is 100% effective. Go to a hardware store and get a 1/2" plastic ball cock valve, and the fittings to screw it in between the hose and shower head.This will shut the water flow off 100% and when you turn it back on, it will be very close to the temp it was when you turned it off.THere will be some cooling as the water sits still in the lines, but it will be MUCH better than using a trickle type shut off. Cost will be about 5 bucks.

Most I've seen are replaceable with standard home units. I replaced mine with a Delta from Ace Hardware. Mine didn't have a shutoff either. Gotta have a shutoff to take a Navy shower!

I replaced mine with one I got at Camping World, but yes...it does trickle...the grandson left the shower water on one night and we woke up to a flood.

Mine was an easy change. The standard shower head screwed off the hose, the Oxygenics screwed on the hose. Made a huge difference in the quality of showers. Big improvement!

The trickle is a safety feature found on just about all of them to prevent scalding. As noted above, it comes in very handy for soaping up the hands.

In our opinion that is a feature, i.e. we want the trickle. While soaping up it allows for rewetting the hands and soap so that lathering can continue.

As for any blast of of temperature water (maybe for a second) I just put my palm up in front of the stream until the water is the temp I like then I remove my hand. Takes but 1 second in my shower.

Yep, that's the valve we had in our ROO and it did stop the dripping better. Our white one does not shut off 100%, but more like 95% or better. As long as I don't have a blast of freezing cold water or hot water when I push the button back in, the small amount of dripping doesn't bother me.

Here is a link to the flow control valve I bought for my shower head. The white plastic one shuts off fully, the others drip to minimize the hot or cold blast when the water is turned back on. I have the white plastic one and its great. Should fit any 1/2" shower head.

And that is the rub. Due to wide varisbles in the resistance of TT plumbing, some will not haven issue with a drip, or a slight problem that is liveable... I haven't been lucky enough to own one of those yet, but it is theorectically possible for the resistance it the hot and cold lines to be close to the same.

So a blanket recomendation just isn't possible.

Had a chrome finish Oxygenics in our ROO and a white one for our TT. DH added an inline valve shut-off for the first one and it pretty well stopped the flow. This time we just let it be with the push button off-on and it does drip, but IMHO, not enough to be a problem. Our OEM had virtually NO water pressure and we're very pleased with the Oxygenics. Pressure is perfect for us.

We had the chrome oxygenics on our old tt. It is chrome finish but plastic body. The hose was a universal screw on. Our oxygenics was purchased almost 3 yrs ago and came without the shut off valve. DH bought a shut off valve at home depot that worked well. Whole thing was east to install. We sold the tt with it still in. No issues with it. Yes it does increase your water pressure when showering but it actually uses less water than a regular shower head.
