I'd just like to add to the above that panic stop situations may be a good example of when size really does matter...one time I got pushed right through an intersection by my trailer, whose brakes had locked up. (The old "who put that stop sign there??" situation ;) )
Trailer weighs over half the weight of the tow vehicle, which pulls it just fine. Sheer momentum of that weight behind me couldn't be overcome by the brakes on the tug. I'm a teeny weenie tower by most standards, but I guess the same laws of physics apply to me as to much bigger rigs.
